SICIS Jewels at Paris Haute Couture Week with Vaishali S

On the opening day of Paris Haute Couture Week Fall/Winter 2026–2027, SICIS Jewels entered into dialogue with the world of Indian haute couture as the official jewellery partner of Vaishali S for the presentation of Swayam, the new collection by designer Vaishali Shadangule.

Presented at the Residence of the Ambassador of India in Paris, the show brought together thirty handwoven couture creations and a selection of high jewellery pieces from SICIS Jewels. A meeting of two artistic worlds, the collaboration celebrated craftsmanship as a living language: one expressed through Indian handloom traditions, the other through gold, precious stones, and the ancient art of micromosaic.

The Swayam collection is dedicated to the woman who has reached full self-awareness. Like a flower blooming in its own time, she does not wait to be seen in order to unfold. She exists in her own light, rooted, free, and completely herself.

Each of the thirty looks was made entirely on Indian handlooms, drawing on fourteen distinct weaving traditions from across the subcontinent. From primordial, closed forms to silhouettes in full bloom, the collection moved through a poetic chromatic journey: stone grey, ash, and deep green gave way to carmine, amethyst, peacock, and sapphire. The sequence began with Beej, the sealed seed, and arrived at Mukti, the full bloom, with Swayamprabha, “she who shines with her own light,” at the heart of the narrative.

Vaishali Shadangule’s signature technique transforms handwoven fabrics into sculptural, three-dimensional forms. Bodices take on the presence of botanical architecture, pleats appear suspended in the very moment of opening, and embroidered surfaces seem to emerge naturally from the fabric itself.

Alongside these creations, SICIS Jewels presented a wide selection of its most expressive high jewellery collections. Necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings became luminous extensions of the garments, reinforcing their sense of movement, nature, and transformation. Floral-inspired creations such as Botanica, Daisy, and Iris appeared in harmony with collections drawn from the animal world, including Anemone, Quetzal, Damisa Ice, and Papillon. Geometric and architectural designs, from Losange, Icon, Arabesque, and Tela, were joined by celestial pieces such as Nebulosa and Saturno.

Crafted in gold, precious stones, and micromosaic, each SICIS Jewels creation added another dimension to the runway. The jewels did not simply accompany the garments; they conversed with them. Their vibrant colors, intricate surfaces, and sculptural volumes reflected the same devotion to time, patience, and human hands that defined the collection.

Every model walked barefoot, a gesture that brought the collection back to its most essential origin: the body in direct contact with the earth. The show unfolded to the sound of live Indian classical music, creating a continuous rhythm between fabric, body, jewelry, and sound.

For Vaishali S, Swayam also carried a profound cultural message. Each look was created through the designer’s artisan network of more than 4,500 weaving families across seven Indian states, a community built over twenty-five years through trust, time, and dedication. Each finished piece represents hundreds, and in many cases thousands, of hours of handwork.

“I kept thinking about that flower blooming in an empty field, with no one watching. It doesn’t feel alone and it’s not waiting. It’s simply, completely itself. This is the woman I wanted to dress; a woman whose beauty asks for nothing in return. Swayam is my way of saying that you don’t need to be admired to open up. You just have to be authentic. Our models walked the runway barefoot because that’s where every bloom begins: from the root, touching the earth,” said Vaishali Shadangule, Founder and Creative Director of Vaishali S.

The collection was officially recognized by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, for its commitment to India’s handloom heritage and for bringing the pride of the country’s weaving traditions to one of the world’s most prestigious fashion stages. It was created in collaboration with the Office of the Development Commissioner Handloom, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

Following the runway presentation, the resee of the full collection was hosted at the SICIS Jewels showroom on Rue Marbeuf in Paris, extending the dialogue between haute couture, heritage, and high jewellery into the Maison’s Parisian space.
